Forest Cobra

(Naja melanoleuca)
DISTRIBUTION: Eastern Kwazulu-Natal, Mozambique, Zimbabwe

Long but not so slender snakes. Largest African Cobra. Average 1,5 -2m but may reach 2,5 – 3m in length

Above: Brownish or blackish-brown – very shiny. Below: Yellow or cream mottled with black and brown markings. Tails are bluish-black.
